Well, I hope this works, my poor website is falling apart at the seams!!! first I lost the whole website, next it was my saved posts and know its all of your guys comments!!!
Anyway technical glitches aside, I have been working on my diet over the last couple of weeks. It started two weeks ago with trying to eat slowly again as I had slipped into the “hoover the food down like there’s no tomorrow” way of eating again.
This week I have been concentrating on better food choices, i.e. salad and protein for lunches and making sure I have breakfast every morning. It seems to be working as my pants are fitting better than they have for a while.
I still am a bit nervous about exercising as it seems every time I start I hurt myself! But I know I need too!!! So I am going to start with walking again, as I am able to easily get back into that groove … I hope
Talking of injuries…I seem to have recovered fully from being walrus man, and have managed to keep the walrus man suit firmly stuffed into the wardrobe – thankfully
Several months ago, when I was going full steam ahead, a friend of mine asked me “how do you stay motivated” and I stoically answered “I don’t stay motivated, I just grind it out” or something along those lines. I of course was clearly full of crap
as everyone needs to have motivators. My first and foremost motivator is living a long live and seeing my son grow up! But for some reason the brain seems to need more than one motivator, so I am on a quest to find some more. I have always been inspired by literature, so I intend to start reading books about people that inspire me and see if that helps keep me on track. Any other motivational suggestions would be welcome.
Tomorrow night I’ll see if I can make the comments come back!
I’m still watching – and waiting – and waiting – and waiting….Superdaddy – when are you going to post the next post? No more excuses!!- tittilate my senses with your amazing ability to finish something you started, be a doer, not a gunna. C’mon!
Still waiting………………..
The main thing is not to give up, and then everything will turn out, only at first it seems that exercises are very hard, but after a while you get used and they seem very easy. We must believe and do everything to achieve their goal.
…still waiting…….
…. waiting…….
Hi Anthony
I was over at the feelamazing website and saw the link to your blog – bravo!
I know what you mean about finding motivation. I’ve been stuck at 80kg or so for the last 3 years – which puts me at a BMI of 27 – just enough to be overweight – it seems like no matter what I do I can’t lose more than 2-3 kgs (at one point I was paddling 5-6 times a week and only got down to 78kg !?)
Sport is a great motivator, whether it be a team sport (mine is dragonboat racing) or an individual sport – something where you can set goals and see your progress (like making a team selection, or getting placings/times at events). Then your goal isn’t just about doing the exercise and training in order to lose weight, it’s to get something you really want. And a sport where you have a coach to help you out with technique and injury prevention is even better.
I’ve been lucky enough to end up with an awesome team so I have lots of people to help inspire me to train hard – I’ve gained lots of strength and I look less chubby than I did before I started but I just wish I was a bit lighter…
All the best for your journey Anthony – I’m sure I’ll be seeing you at the centre again soon – now that the race season is back on my shoulders will need more work! (Is Mark still there?)
Cheers
